Torrance Unified School District Fitness Centers

Torrance, CA, February 1, 2008 – The Torrance unified School District (TuSD) recently installed fitness centers at all five high schools. The District received funding for the fitness center equipment from a Federal PEP grant.

The Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment (TDM) was contracted to design and supply equipment for each of the five high school
fitness centers. additionally, TDM is currently working with the District to develop fitness centers and programs for the middle schools.
Joe Gordon, TDM chief operating officer stated, “We are extremely proud of our involvement with the TuSD fitness program. Working with the District and the individual P.e. Departments has created the best possible environments for the students to learn about a life-long commitment to health and fitness.”
each fitness center location is devoted to school physical education classes. Students will learn about exercise and fitness while using a variety of balance, strength and cardiovascular training equipment.
