WHITTIER, CA. | October 1, 2013 – Rio Hondo College celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013. As a comprehensive community college, Rio Hondo offers many strong career-technical programs, such as nursing, fire and police academies, automotive and alternative fuels, a full transfer curriculum, and basic skills courses and services. The Division of Kinesiology, Dance and Athletics recently opened the new fitness center which now averages over 1500 students enrolled each semester.

Students now have a state of the art facility to achieve and maintain their cardiovascular health. The College developed the project and worked exclusively with The Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment® (TDM). The 13,000 square foot space includes cardio, strength and free weight equipment as well as dance and group exercise rooms.

Professor Kathy Pudelko stated, “Our student’s experience has benefited from our circuit training curriculum using the strength and cardio machines. They love our Cybex and the Hoist Roc-it equipment!”  The fitness offering features Cybex, Free Motion, and Hoist machines as part of the cross training program.

The Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows

Cybex.Fairmont-4SANTA MONICA, CA. | JULY 31, 2013 – The Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows is a luxury 302 room property located atop the scenic bluffs overlooking Santa Monica Beach.  The Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment® (TDM) provided the designs for the renovated fitness center and supplied the new cardiovascular and strength training equipment. TDM will also provide continued equipment service and maintenance through its new What’s Most Important® (WMI) service program.

The project updated the fitness center to provide the hotel with an amenity worthy of this best in class property. In addition to the new equipment, new flooring and lighting enhances the guest experience. Separate spaces offer both an indoor and outdoor exercise opportunity overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Cybex 525 Series Cardio and VR1 Series Strength were utilized to maximize space and convenience.

CHINO, CA | JULY 1, 2013 – Lennar Homes recently opened its College Park 9,000 square foot community recreation center— showcasing two swimming pools, a kid’s splash park, spa, and fitness center. This purpose built facility was designed with help from The Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment and a focus on the What’s Most Important® design and service model to create the best possible resident experience and a long-term health and fitness solution.

Built from the ground up, The Dumbell Man took advantage of the opportunity to develop a well-designed space providing smooth traffic flow and a transition between equipment. TDM provided the latest model treadmills, crosstrainers, cycles, strength training, and functional training equipment. In addition, TDM provided integrated entertainment options, fitness accessories, and of course provisions for ongoing equipment support and maintenance.

IMG_20130801_093158_550LAS VEGAS, NV | JUNE 1, 2013 – The LVH (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton) is a hotel, casino, and convention center located one block off The Strip with nearly 3,000 rooms, 305 suites, and the largest sportsbook in Nevada.  The Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment provided design, layout, and proposal services to renovate their fitness center and provide upgraded cardiovascular and strength training equipment.

In keeping with the LVH’s overall renovation plans, a complete revamp of the fitness center was required and The Dumbell Man provided the latest model treadmills, crosstrainers, cycles, and strength training, and functional training equipment.  In addition, TDM provided recommendations for flooring, entertainment, traffic flow management, and long-term equipment service and maintenance.

IlluminaSAN DIEGO, CA. | April 1, 2013 – Illumina was named the world’s smartest company by MIT Technology Review. They recently opened their new campus location in Mira Mesa area of San Diego with a 6,000 square foot fitness facility. The company provides a line of products and services that serve the sequencing, genotyping and gene expression markets.

The Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment® (TDM) worked with key staff in developing a design for the space, equipment selection and programming. The new facility offers separate cardio, strength and group exercise options. The new Cybex 770 E3 cardio machines were added with a complete line of custom designed Cybex strength and Free Motion free weight equipment. The new space added more room for cross training, stretching and kettlebells, with top brands TRX, Stairmaster, and Marpo Rope included.
